I snapped this photo of the neighbor and her special needs daughter waiting for the school bus last week before it got really-really cold out this is the third NO SCHOOL. day in a row. last night when i went to bed we were up to 17 inches of snow and 39 yes you heard me right 39 below. lucky for me i have plenty to do right here in my cozy abode.

Here in Iowa we are in the middle of winter and what a winter it is turning out to be. There is absolutely no where left to put the snow. i would love to make my escape. but in all fairness to my honey lamb, i will stay home and make cookies.

This is a snapshot of the Fairbanks clan taken around the mid fifty's. i confiscated it from my moms photo album for many reasons the biggest one being it wasn't an acid free album. so now i have decided to identify each and every Fairbanks present in the photo. how that for a new years challenge? my resources are becoming more limited by the day so am making it a priority wish me luck. if any one recognizes yourself that would be helpful:)

1) i hate it on wheel of fortune when they ask a contestant if they are married and they respond with "yes pat, i'm married to my wonderful husband/wife fill in name" we of course your married to your husband/wife we didn't think you were married to the family dog.

2) I starting drawing social security benefits this month.

3) I'm addicted to computer solitaire, once i start playing i can't quite till i win.

4) I'm really not that into betty boop anymore, i got rid of most of my collection in a garage sell last year.

5) I remember one "past life"

6) I scan the real estate web site everyday looking for a home closer to my youngens

To all her children the most satisfiying part of christmas day was watching mom enjoy her great granddaughters. She tried at the family party a week earlier but her grip just wasn't what it should be to hold them without help. on this day she was at home and feeling rested, even though she held each one for at least 15 minutes eash we were close by to asist if need be. it was a good day. we love our mommy so much
